In the league, the host has not conjured a win though but the visiting side is also winless in their away ties. Moreover, the visiting side has won only once in the last seven away fixtures. Fiorentina would have had a thirteen game unbeaten run if it was not for the lone defeat in the 2017 SA game. Besides that, the host has been undefeated in the previous two encounters with Sampdoria at home.

Goal Margins

A man to keep an eye on in the home side will be Italy international Federico Chiesa, who is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. La Samp, on the other hand, desperately needed a win over Torino and they managed to get one. Manolo Gabbiadinis goal helped Eusebio di Francescos troops put an end to their three-game losing run in the Serie A, but seeing that Fiorentina want this victory more than Sampdoria, home win should be considered.

Moreover, they did manage to tie with the reigning champions Juventus in their previous home tie. Another thing to note is that both teams have found the back of the net in the previous eight encounters. Hence, there are more chances for scoring to happen from both sides of the field. Also, five of these games were held at home. The home team has lost only twice in the previous five home matches.

Fiorentina and Sampdoria, the two teams who are almost level on points in the Serie A standings, face each other at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday afternoon. Fiorentina aim to move a little closer to the Europa League berth and we are positive that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in Sundays football game against Sampdoria. The Viola suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to Parma in their last home game in the national championship, but following a goalless draw with Genoa at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, they defeated Torino on the road in the Coppa Italia. La Samp, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 loss to Juventus in Turin in their last game in 2018 and seeing that they failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Milan in the Italian Cup at the weekend, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts.

The guest has suffered three losses and tasted success in the previous clash at home. Sampdoria will be traveling on a winless streak in their SA trips on the road. They have been easily conceding in the league as they let in 9 goals from four matches. Their scoring is yet hasty as the visitor could only manage two goals in whole.

Fiorentina - Sampdoria

Dalbert, who was born on September 8, 1993, has yet to earn a call-up for the Brazil national football team. After making 25 appearances for the Primeira Liga club, the left-back joined Ligue 1 side Nice in 2016. Henrique made his debut for les Aiglons on August 14, 2016 in a league match against Stade de Rennais. Dalbert Henrique made his professional debut for Academio de Viseu and in 2015 he moved to Vitoria Guimaraes of Portugal.

Sampdoria made a disappointing start of the season with the three consecutive losses. If they want to get back on track first they need to defend their own goal much better and then start to build their game in the middle where they need to control the ball better. In those three games, they scored just once and allowed 9 goals. But that is a long process and Im not expecting to see changes too quickly. They finished last season in the 8th place and current results are a big surprise for everyone.

It is more a case of how the fixture list has dropped for them, rather than their poor play, that has caused them to be at the foot of the table. They have drawn at home to Juventus and away with Atalanta over the past two weeks, with that kind of form it is only a matter of time before their league position improves. Fiorentina are the bottom club with two points from four games. They are yet to win, although have recorded two draws and in those they have done pretty well.

Three straight defeats had led them to the bottom of the table, but a 1-0 success over Torino at the weekend could be the turning point which Samp need to get their season up and running. Sampdorias poor start to the season could be a thing of the past, with the visitors heading into this clash on the back of a win. Will they follow it up with a win here?
